We are pleased to announce that the 10th Biennial International Conference on the Linguistics of Contemporary English (BICLCE) will be held from 26 to 28 September 2024 in Spain, at the University of Alicante.
We would like to invite researchers to submit their abstracts addressing every aspect of contemporary English, and especially encourage proposals that engage with variation in English, second language acquisition and development, learner corpora, discourse analysis and metadiscourse, constructions, metaphor, politeness, formulaic language, academic writing, language contact, corpus-based studies and statistical models.
Please note that any proposals on historical and contrastive topics should be related to the study of present-day English.

Abstract Submission:
At this stage, abstract submissions for individual papers and poster presentations are invited. Please submit your proposal by 15 December 2023. Please specify the type of submission (in the 'comments' slot) and make sure that the abstracts do not exceed 300 words and contain no names of the authors. The abstracts must conform to the following template:

The conference will include a series of workshops/panels centered around topical issues in English linguistics. All the workshops (see link below) are still open, so potential contributors are invited to submit their proposals to the convenor(s) of the workshop:
