The Department of Linguistics at the University of Dhaka is pleased to announce the Dhaka University Linguistics Conference 2025 (DULC2025), a hybrid conference to be held on February 26, 2025. The event will offer both in-person and virtual participation to facilitate international collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of linguistics, with a focus on the intersection of language, technology, and interdisciplinary approaches within the Digital Humanities.

Conference Theme:
The theme for DULC2025 is "Language, Function, and Interdisciplining Digital Humanities," inviting scholars to explore the role of language in digital environments and the innovative cross-disciplinary methodologies in the Digital Humanities. As the digital age reshapes the way we understand, document, and analyse language, this conference will examine how linguistic functions can be analysed through the lens of digital tools, fostering collaborations between linguists, technologists, and digital humanists.

Key Topics of Interest:
We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics related to linguistics and Digital Humanities, including but not limited to:
• Language Typology: Cross-linguistic studies on the structure and function of languages and how they can be analysed using digital tools.
• Language Documentation and Revitalisation: Innovative methods for documenting endangered languages using digital platforms and the role of digital tools in language preservation.
• Corpus Linguistics: The impact of digital technologies on linguistic analysis, including corpus linguistics, computational methods, and language data visualisation.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics: How digital technologies and machine learning shape language processing, text analysis, and AI-driven language applications.
• Language in Digital Communication: The role of language in social media, online discourse, and how digital platforms shape language use and variation.
• Interdisciplinary Approaches to Digital Humanities: Exploring collaborative research between linguistics, cultural studies, computer science, and other fields to tackle issues related to language in the digital era.
• Language Learning in Digital Environments: In a globalised world, digital pedagogies, language acquisition tools, and online language education.
