21st Old World Conference in Phonology (OCP21)

We welcome abstract submissions for the 21st Old World Conference in Phonology (OCP21):
- to be held in person in Leipzig, Germany, from February 14-16, 2024
- Deadline for abstract submission: September 15, 2023

The main sessions of the OCP21 will be preceded by a satellite workshop "Tone in Grammar" on February 13, 2024.

Background:
The OCP is an annual event gathering researchers specializing in phonology and related fields, interested in both theoretical and experimental issues. It was founded in 2003 by a group of linguistists from the Leiden University Center for Linguistics and the Meertens Institute, and has since grown into an international forum attented by both senior and junior linguists. OCP has been hosted in different places, mainly in Europe: Tours, Donostia, Eivissa, Warsaw, Verona, London, Düsseldorf, Budapest, Barcelona, Leiden, Istanbul, Berlin, Marrakech, Nice, Edinburgh, Toulouse, Rhodes, Budapest, Troms​ø and Leiden.

Submission instructions:

We welcome submissions on any topic in phonology from any theoretical perspective and methodology. We invite abstracts for talks (20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion) or posters. Everybody may submit maximally two abstracts, only one of which may be single-authored. Abstracts will be blindly peer-reviewed by an international panel of reviewers.

- 12pt Times New Roman font (or close equivalent)
- 2.54 cm (one inch) margins on all sides
- Anonymous

Abstracts not following these guidelines will be rejected.
The deadline for abstract submission is September 15, 2023.
Notification of acceptance will be in late October 2023.

(Note that the workshop „Tone in Grammar“ has its own call for papers with the same deadline)
