Submission instructions:

We invite abstracts for 20-minute presentations and for poster sessions in any area related to Hispanic Linguistics. While this conference highlights work by researchers in the Southeast or who do research related to Spanish in the Southeast, we encourage submissions from researchers across the globe.
Conference presentations will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, and poster presentations will take place between each session. Abstracts should not exceed 400 words in length (including examples, references, and figures). Priority will be given to studies presenting concrete results; however, we also extend consideration to studies with forthcoming outcomes. Abstracts may be submitted in either English or Spanish. Please submit your abstract here: https://easyabs.linguistlist.org/conference/SLISESLINKI2025. (Note: EasyAbs does not send an email acknowledgment of receipt of your abstract.)

REVIEW CRITERIA
Our panel of expert reviewers will choose abstracts based on the following criteria:

1) Originality - Does the research make a significant contribution to the field of Hispanic linguistics?
2) Academic Rigor - Are the background, rationale, prior research, and models clearly described? Are specific models being tested? Is the motivation for the study related to just filling a gap in the field, or does the study exhibit a robust foundation in theoretical motivation?
3) Study Design - Is the methodology (participants, materials, statistical analyses) described in detail?
4) Measurable Outcome - What is the stage of the research? Are results available?
5) Presentation - Is the writing clear? Is it appropriately organized? Is the length appropriate?

Submissions open: Nov. 1, 2024 - Dec. 1, 2024

Abstract review period: Dec. 1, 2024 - Dec. 20, 2024
